Welcome to the official site about Lost Lake, located in Ogle County, Illinois, near Dixon, Illinois. Lost Lake is a country style community, located in northwest Illinois, surrounding a stocked 80+ acre man-made lake. Nestled around this beautiful habitat are acres of gently rolling, wooded hills. Over 700 property owners currently make this community their permanent or weekend home. Local residents enjoy sports such as fishing, golf, sledding hill, basketball and snowmobile riding. The air is pristine and noise pollution is virtually non-existent. Only the varied sounds of nature seem to permeate the area. Lost Lake is roughly equidistant from the Illinois cities of Dixon, Franklin Grove and Oregon.

United Lost Lake Property Owners Association (ULLPOA) does not endorse or support any other sites with the name “Lost Lake” or “Discover Lost Lake”, including any Facebook registry.

Unless there are extenuating circumstances, agendas for the ULLPOA monthly meetings are posted at both entrances and on our website on Thursday prior to the scheduled meeting.

We are shocked and deeply saddened by the events that occurred in our Community on June 12th.

The Lost Lake POA Board of Directors would like to express our gratitude to the Ogle County Deputies and all other Agencies that were involved in the incident that occurred within our Community on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. We are grateful for the quick response of the Ogle County Sheriff’s Department to our community member’s initial concern. We are also grateful to our own Lost Lake Security team who coordinated with responding agencies.

According to the police press conference on June 12th, an individual within our community threatened harm. After multiple failed attempts to contact the individual, law enforcement entered the home to check on the welfare of the individual, and deputies immediately received fire. Three deputies and the suspect were transferred to the local hospital. Those injured are stated to be in “good condition” and expected to recover. The Illinois State Police will be handling the investigation moving forward.

We were shocked and deeply saddened that Officers were injured, and we want to wish them a full and speedy recovery. We are extremely grateful that there were no fatalities. Our prayers are also with our own community family that was directly impacted by this tragedy.

Incidents of this kind are completely out of character for our beloved Lost Lake Community. We are a safe, quiet, family neighborhood full of friends and neighbors who watch out for each other.

Thank you again to all the Agencies who responded to keep our community safe. We are forever grateful.
